Why massage?

Emily Tapp Melanoma Foundation

As Massage Therapists the one area of the body we see a lot of is the skin, we have chosen the Emily Tapp Melanoma Foundation as an organisation to support due to our association with the skin. One of our clients had a Melanoma taken away that was picked up on her regular massage check & we were pleased to find out that she will survive. It was a malignant growth, but caught in time. This Unfortunately cannot be said about everybody.
Please assist us with our support by reading more about how you can help.

A year prior to moving to Brisbane, Emily had a level four melanoma removed from the back of her arm but, because of its position, Emily had been unaware of the mole for too long.

Had she been checked as a matter of course it would have been detected and Emily would still be with us.

Hunter Life Education

Hunter Life Education is a not for profit, community based and community funded organisation established in 1985 operating two well equipped mobile classrooms and an Education Centre to ensure that every young person is eligible to receive the Life Education message. The growing problems of drug misuse amongst young people has mobilised Hunter Life Education with the support of the community and corporate partners to initiate fundraising activities to ensure that children and young people can access Life Education programs despite financial circumstances.

Hunter Life Education motivates encourages and empowers children and young people to make life choices for a healthy future, free from the harmful effects of drugs. It does this by providing relevant and innovative drug and health education in a safe and supportive environment. Hunter Life Education provides a range of fun, family oriented services and fundraising activities which support community cohesiveness and supports Life Education.

Thanks to Hunter College of Massage for their generous support.

Please visit our website www.hunterlifeeducation.org.au for more information about events and ways you too can support drug education in this region.

Hunter College of Massage supports both of these very worthy organisations.

When training Massage Therapists learn about and look at skin, this is one vital way that people can be checked for Melanoma.

When you have a massage the trained Therapist looks for any problematic areas and will advise you the client/patient to see their Doctor.

The young are our future. We do not need them taken away senselessly.
