Massage is the process of physical manipulation of muscle tissue resulting in increased blood flow and reduced tension, which in turn leads to greater healing ability, fewer aches and pains and a general sense of health and wellbeing.
This course is part of the nationally recognised Health Training Package, which set national standards for massage therapists. This course integrates deep tissue therapeutic massage techniques with sciences including anatomy and physiology, pathology and symptomatology and diagnosis.
This course also covers exercise therapy and includes 50 hours of practical clinical training. The Certificate IV in Massage course may also be used as a great stepping-stone to the Hunter College of Massage Diploma of Remedial Massage.

What is remedial massage?

Hunter College of Massage Diploma of Remedial Massage course involves the use of massage therapy and a wide range of diagnostic techniques to treat a variety of ailments pertaining to the musculoskeletal system.
A remedial massage practitioner has the ability to provide a comprehensive treatment plan based on their ability to determine the underlying cause of many musculoskeletal problems.
Students will be taught to deal with a wide range of musculoskeletal problems using basic and advanced massage techniques such as trigger points, deep tissue treatments and lymphatic drainage. A strong emphasis is placed on anatomy, basic pathology, as well as symptomatology and diagnosis. And also includes 50 hours of practical clinical training.
This highly comprehensive course is part of the nationally recognised Health Training Package HLT07 and includes the full curriculum of the Certificate IV in Massage Therapy Practice course taught at Hunter College of Massage. This course is compliant with the national standards for massage practitioners and has a very high level of recognition with most of the major health funds and employers in Australia.
